Tjampuhan
Hotel and Spa built in 1928 for guests of the Prince of Ubud, the
Hotel Tjampuhan came to prominence in 1934 when it became the starting
point for Pita Maha, an artists' association founded by Tjokorda Gde
Agung Sukawati and the noted Western artists Walter Spies and Rudolf
Bonnet. Sixty-seven individual dwellings built in traditional Balinese
style are scattered among landscaped terraces and gardens, offering
private views of the tropical river valleys and the 900-year-old Gunung

and flowers, the Hotel Tjampuhan provides a natural sanctuary for
vividly-colored birds and butterflies, and the perfect base for a
visit to Bali's artistic heartland.

and river view. 67 pleasant cottages overlooking the picturesque Ubud
